Healthy View, Healthy You

Geneva Park

May 16 - 18, 2012. Geneva Park, Orillia.

The OFCP is pleased to present our 2012 Annual Conference for People who Provide Support Services to People who have a Disability. This year's conference, “Healthy View, Healthy You”, offers a holistic approach to support service professionals. “Healthy View, Healthy You” will provide participants with hands on skills and information that enable healthy habits both in the workplace and at home. We are excited to present an all new conference format that focuses on both professional and personal development. The conference is split into three modules each contributing to a holistic approach to support service and personal well being.

In addition to the exciting new format, the OFCP is pleased to present entertainment that will inspire support service providers who work one on one with people who have a disability. Comedian and motivational speaker Gord Paynter will kick off the conference with his “Leave 'em Laffin” performance, where he shares his experience as a blind person. In addition, participants will have a chance to attend a special screening of the National Film Board's “How Does It Feel” starring Kazumi Tsuruoka, a blues singer who has Cerebral Palsy. Finally, have fun and unwind with an evening of entertainment featuring a live Magician and Dance with DJ!

Support Services is an ever-growing field, the OFCP Annual Conference for People who Provide Support Services to People who have Disabilities is a unique opportunity to acquire special skills and training. We hope that you can join us- come prepared to share, learn and grow!

Over the last several decades, people who have cerebral palsy have made signifcant progress and achieved high levels of success in all areas of modern society.

The OFCP 2011 Annual Conference recognized a diverse range of individuals and their accomplishments. Together we celebrated how cerebral palsy is a positive aspect of our lives.

This conference offered us a rare opportunity to commend our peers, friends and family who have cerebral palsy for achieving their goals and dreams.

We also featured a special exhibit that showcased the art, literature, educational achievements, personal accomplishments and community involvement of successful individuals who have cerebral palsy.
